Our bodies are built to respond to each other, even without names or words. On the dance floor, strangers can fall into a simple, connected dance, a deeply sensual meeting in the present moment. Just as often comes the opposite: a tightening, a turning away from someone we barely know.

‍

Within seconds, our attachment system is already answering, long before the mind catches up. Then come the questions: Am I drawn to this person? Are they drawn to me? May I show it? Is this dangerous? Some of us reach, some retreat, many do both. The dance is simple; we make it complicated.

‍

The terrain of any dance, on or off the floor, includes the peaks and valleys of our own longings. Our earliest relationships shaped a blueprint for closeness: how much we trust it, how we reach for it, and how we protect ourselves when it feels risky. Desire for connection is often the place of our greatest vulnerability, and Ice our protection.

‍

Through Open Floor Movement practice we’ll explore our attachment styles (anxious, avoidant, and the security we can grow into), sensing approach and retreat as they happen in the body, and building the ground to meet desire from a more secure place.

This course fulfills the embodied sexuality pre–requisite for Open Floor teacher training.
